

Darla then looks down the drain and says, "Fishy!" The drain squirts water in her face as she breaks it. After Gill catapults Nemo into the air, Darla tries to grab him, but he lands in the spit sink and is swallowed into the drain leading to the ocean. 'Hurry' said Peach, watching her anxiously, as she fell off of the side of the tank. 'Why are you sleeping' she asked the clownfish. Gill then fires himself out of the tank and lands in her hair, causing her to drop Nemo bursting his bag. Meanwhile, Darla was staring at the bag containing Sharkbait, and still shaking it. In the scene where Darla is about to take Nemo from her uncle, Nemo plays dead, but Darla thinks he is just sleeping and starts shaking the bag.

You know - in a picture holding a dead goldfish. Not to mention her wounds afterwards from being stung so badly and how close both came to being Eaten Alive. Although she violently shakes the bag that Nemo is in, she ends up with a huge fish in her hair and dirty water spewing from the drain into her face.

The movie teaches us that bullies never win through Darla. The last fish she received, Chuckles, was killed by her because she wouldn't stop shaking the bag Chuckles was in. Marlin finding Dory tangled and looking dead in the tentacles of a jellyfish. Darla is known as the fish killer in Finding Nemo. Gill and the other fishes in Sherman's fish tank describe Darla as a fish killer and that Nemo is supposed to be her new pet fish. She is not antagonistic through evil or malicious intent but rather through rambunctiousness and the overexcitement of having pet fish, which ironically has frequently resulted in her killing them by accident. Darla is the niece of Philip Sherman, a dentist.
